my wife tok off with my 1 yr old son interstate for 4 mths,I immediatley filed for divorce, during a temp hearing I agreed for her to have temp sole custody and for me to have temp full use of our home and for me to get my son for a 20 day visitation period.
During his 20 day visit I brought him with me to a Counseling session, the LPC noticed signs of possible Asperger's in my son, however she noticed he makes good eye contact.
Much of my adult life people mention that I do not make eye contact,I do not fit in in groups,I have no friends, anyway,I have actually prior to my wife leaving me been trying to see if there were some symptoms I had of a certain psychological pattern or something for why I have such Social challenges and I am now convinced that I have Asperger's.
The Licensed Professional Counselor wrote a recomendation that my wife and I under go Psychological Evaluations and that my son be seen by a Pediatrician to look for signs of Asperger's.The Ped definately did find signs of Asperger's and wrote a referral for my son to both a Child Psychologist and a Developmental Pediatrician.
I am concerned if I undergo a Psyche Evaluation that I will be diagnosed with Asperger's and will lose chances of winning Full Custody of my son.I was his primary caregiver for his first 8 mths before my wife absconded with him,the LPC wrote she believes my son shows signs of neglect from being in her care,I have notarized affadavits from 10 neighbors documenting my wifes psychotic mental behavior,my wifes writing online that she hallucinates, has suicidal thoughts, depression, just alot against her,but how would a diagnosis of Asperger's which is in the Autism Family but people like me have above average intelligence but just have issues with Social Skills and clumsiness and minor quirks like Compulsive Disorders would this damage my chances of full custody?
DO NOT CLICK IN THE YELLOW BOX?
Why Not?
our daughter is 3 1/2... my fiancee and i have decided to have another baby. our daughter has autism and we were wondering what our chances were of having another child who has autism.. i have looked it up and found varying percentages from 12% to 80%.... my fiancee is not our daughter's biological father does that lessen the chances... either way we would love the baby as much as our daughter and it wouldn't make a difference but we were wondering what the chances.
I have a hypothetical question. Say you had a son or grandson that was 2 and a half years old. His vocabulary consisted of mommy, daddy, mummum, poppop, no, and yeah. He has no hearing problems (checked by a Dr. to confirm) however he show literally ever single sign/symptom of a speach delay. He also had more then 3/4 of the signs for some form of autism. Would you have him checked by specialists (speech pathologists) if it were a free service provided by the local public school system. The therapy and work that he would receive would also be completely free. Or would you be to proud to even be slightly open to the idea that something is obviously wrong. Say this child also showed these signs: when involved with one object dosnt show the ability to acknowledge you when speaking to him and then go back to what he was doing (hell either ignore you, or not remember what he was doing), can recognize almost of his family members by pointing but cannot say their names, same with objects?
