Like all mom's I'm a little worried about Autism and the link to MMR. I have seen tons of different studies proving that it is linked and tons the it isn't linked. I don't want to upset anyone, I'm just trying to educate myself on Autism and vaccines. Here are my questions:
1. Was your child vaccinate with MMR?
2. How long after the vaccine did your child show signs of Autism?
3. If your child received that MMR vaccine, did they also recieve the Chicken Pox vaccine the same day?
Thank you in advance to those that answer.

DO NOT CLICK IN THE YELLOW BOX?

Why Not?

he just celebrated his first birthday and he has already reached all his milestone except point at things which he wants or nod his head for yes or no. Although he seems to say 10 words clearly, we suspect some lack in his communication skills and also which i have read is one of the early sign of autism. But he seems to wave good bye and also say "bye", but somehow we have that nagging feeling could he digress and be autistic cuz he shows little signs of communication like asking for things he wants or pointing towards it which most of the other kids his age seem to be doing. I was wondering is this one of the main criteria that a child with this lack in communication skills could possibly develop autism later?also he is hypersensitive to sand, grass, and even a carpet for that matter, but smiles and has very good and appropriate eye contact, we can go to a developmental doctor but i knw for sure that they are going to dismiss it saying he is normal or the parents are just too anxious...any suggestions or similar experiences?

I have just had my 5 year old son diagnosed with high functioning autism and i just want a bit more info. I thought the difference between them was just how clever you are.I think my son may become below average as he is only 5 it is hard to tell if that is the case does it mean he will just have autism and not high functioning. sorry if im speaking rubbish or do not make Sense i am just trying to understand tanks.

I know a family that has a son who shows obvious signs of autism or maybe aspergers, but doctors have told them that he is just a little behind and that he is normal. He is now going on 4 yrs old and can't feed himself, won't eat solid foods (mostly yogurt), and still wears diapers. The parents seemingly refuse to acknowldege that he has a severe learning disorder. I have researched autism a great deal and it is plainly obvious that he is autistic, as he shows all of the signs and his physical features are identical to autistic children ( baby-faced, pale skin with very red lips, tired looking eyes with dark circles under them). The problem is I'm afraid of upsetting the parents by suggesting anything, but feel they need to know as soon as possible, as early treatment is the most successful. I know once he starts school he will be instantly recognized as autistic, but he needs help now. How can I go about suggesting anything?
