Author: he is 11 months old,he will butt his matress until he falls asleep.if i hold him snugly beside me he will throw his arm back and forth until he falls out.could he have autism? some of the signs are that kids with autism dont like to be cuddled(he hates it)they wont look you in the eyes(he will but not for long) could he just be hyper? by the way,this is my 4th baby .

does some muppet always say "Oh it's autism". They clearly have no concept of what autism is, or what the signs of it are. If a child is slightly behind on its milestones, it does NOT necessarily need to be tested for autism, it may just need to be encouraged. Equally if a child screams and shouts and constantly plays up - guess what? It doesn't mean it is autistic - it probably just needs a bit of discipline in its life!!

My daughter is nearly 2. I have always been concerned about her speech because she is still not saying much, but I was told not to worry about it by everyone that I talked to. My sister-in-law is autistic and as a part of some information I was reading about autism that she had I found that my daughter had almost all of the early signs of autism and when I took several quizzes online about it, they all told me to talk to my doctor. When I asked my doctor about it he said that because she makes eye contact and gives kisses that she is not autistic. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about autism and could tell me if eye contact and kisses definately rule it out. I'm sure I'm probably just overreacting and have worried myself over nothing, but I need validation.
