Hi. Both of my girls were in GirlScouts from being Daisies up to Juniors. There is a sign up for Cub Scouts and I am thinking about registering my son who is 7 and in the 1st grade. He does not get involved in many social activities because of his anxiety. He has an Autism Spectrum Disorder and gets overstimulated easily too. Do you think Cub Scouts would be a good thing for him to get involved in or would it be too much for him?
I am wondering how many boys are usually in a cub scout troup? What do boys learn in cubscouts? What type of activities do they do? Is it alot of outside activities? (He always does better outside.) Do they learn some of the same things as girlscouts do such as serving the country, helping others, and good morals like that?
Of all the information we have now about autism.. and everyone saying that it is not linked to immunizations, I want to know who out there has not had there child immunized that has autism? I am asking because I have a son with Cerebral Palsy and when taking him to his therapies over the last 2 yrs I have spoke to many moms with children with autism .. and read many articles on it as well, and the majority of those people said they only seen autistic signs in there children after having certain shots.. and running high fevers. Now if I see this as a link... why does no one else? Wouldn't you call it a link between the two? Please do no give me reasons why shots are good.. that's not what this question is about.. I know those answers. I have done my research and this is just part of it. I am trying to educate myself more on autism. If anyone knows of a link as well where this statistic is written please attach it to your answer. Thank you.
I know we're all aware of the controversy surrounding the Vaccinations and Autism argument. And I've just started doing some research about it myself. My daughter is 3 1/2 and only has her two month well-baby shots, and three individual shots since then, that happened on the same visit (if that makes any sense). Everyone I know including myself and siblings and husband and his siblings have full vaccinations, and we're all fine. However, I'm still pretty paranoid about giving my daughter shots that might "bring out" or cause autism. The thought of my energetic, sweet, happy little girl becoming an introverted no eye-contact, in her own world person scares me half to death.
Have you done any research yourself (can you help direct me to those studies?), has your child since become autistic after "that certain shot"? What has been your conclusion on the matter? Do you know anyone who's child starting showing signs of the disorder not long after? I'm not sure of the appropriate questions to ask this community, but feel free to put any input you have on the matter here. Thank you!
